For the first time since her move to couture, designer Gwendolynne Burkin has developed a diffusion
line that caters for the needs of the modern bride and that can be ordered online and shipped internationally. Gwendolynne White is timeless and romantic, conjuring images of a dreamy destination wedding, relaxed nuptials at a rustic country estate, spirited lovers wandering barefoot through vineyards on a perfect day. White is fresh, playful and refined in its simplicity. And it travels extremely well!
‘I receive so many wonderful compliments from bride s about how much they love my gowns, but sometimes they are disappointed because they either haven’t got the lead time to have a made to measure gown crafted, are from interstate or abroad and unable to travel for fittings, or they don’t have the budget for a high end couture piece. With this in mind I wanted to design beautiful, classic Gwendolynne gowns by streamlining and adjusting elements without compromising on design. By working with these factors in mind, I have strived to achieve a more attainable price ranging from $2,750 - $3,995 and with a flexible timeline for the modern bride’, says Gwendolynne.
The new capsule collection ‘Gwendolynne White’ is designed with her typical grace and ingenuity. Retaining classic lines, an effortless feminine silhouette and the luxurious quality for which Gwendolynne is renowned. Predominantly in crisp whites and ivories, this collection makes a feature of intricate Guipure and French lace. Beautifully scalloped and finished with great care and attention, orms in the lace are painstakingly placed over the body in a way that honors the design and the wearer. Luscious imported silks, satins and soft tulles, and soft, flattering sunray pleats, are seamlessly
combined to create an elegant, understated romance.
Various bodices and skirts are interchangeable, giving the bride to be the opportunity to personalize her dress. She can further embellish the gown with Gwendolynne signature beading on waistbands to merge the couture and diffusion lines. Silk ties at the waistbands make sizing flexible and there are no buttons... Zips ensure the gowns are easy to alter, easy to fasten and swift to undo at the end of the night!
