Endless Love at Haiku Mill

The day that Breanne and Aakash said I do was filled with splendor. The bling in Breanne’s hair, on her shoulders, and in her bouquet perfectly accessorized her beautiful embellished gown. With satin shoes in peach to match her bridesmaids’ gowns and flowers, the soft colors and materials created a romantic feel for Breanne’s special day.

Located on the northern side of Maui, Haiku Mill provides a perfect mix of exotic tropical flora with classic French décor. With lush green Hawaiian vegetation crawling seductively along the ruined stones of the old sugar mill walls contrasting the lavish décor of a clear-topped tent, complete with chandeliers, modern place settings, and an unobstructed view of the breathtaking Hawaiian sky.   Iz8ylK01AFHF-nf9u3CYBEDt7QUVox97kXttVcOf164  stUWXEwvzvFlrXNWq4kS4GqG8xHPcK9n9CzWsJFl-NM

Photographer Anna Kim captured many magical moments as Breanne and Aakash made memories that will last their whole lives. With candlelit stairways, greenery covering the old mill walls and floral accents to set the scene, the event was filled with laughter and love, romance and grandeur, playfulness and emotion.

From the bride:
I wanted our wedding to be in a place that was just for us, untouched, secluded and held its own beautiful history. As a young girl, I often had my nose buried in a book and when I first came upon the Haiku Mill I immediately thought of Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden. The Haiku Mill is exactly like a secret garden-artfully preserved and still left to its own devices. The ruin of the sugarcane factory, natural trees, plants and flowers are absolutely stunning!
I wanted to have a very romantic and elegant theme. I absolutely love the colors white and gold; we felt that they complimented the natural beauty within the Mill. Also, there needs to be some sparkle on your wedding day! We wanted to have candles, twinkle lights and the crystal hanging strands. Our florist-Teresa Sena created an absolute dream throughout the Mill and at our table! I think one of my favorite parts was the suspended 3ft ring from the middle of the dinner tent. Teresa beautifully draped the ring with hanging orchids, greens, fairy lights and dropping a chandelier in the middle!
My 94 year old grandmother, Margery Martin was unable to attend. She had her trip booked but unfortunately she fell ill a few weeks before the wedding. I was devastated since she has been a huge part in my life. However, I did have a piece of her that day; she gave me one of her brooches which I pinned to my bouquet. I was very grateful and honored to have had a representation of her.
Another special event during the wedding was the traditional Hindu blessing Aakash's mommy and papa gave us right after the ceremony. We were very grateful for their love, support and blessings of our marriage.
I cannot RAVE enough about the Haiku Mill. Lindsay Miller was our wedding coordinator; however she was more like our Fairy Godmother. Lindsay went above and beyond and the personal attention she gave to not only Aakash and I, but to our families was sensational.
